９月１９日付小紙朝刊は、ベトナム戦争に派遣された韓国軍兵士が、現地女性を性的暴行するなどして「ライダイハン」と呼ばれる混血児が生まれた問題を取り上げていた。岡部伸ロンドン特派員が、英国に犠牲者を救うための民間団体が設立されたことを報じた記事である。
▼この団体によると、韓国兵が１３、１４歳の少女を含むベトナム女性数千人を暴行した結果、生まれたライダイハンは５千?３万人に上るという。ベトナム戦争終結後は置き去りにされ、共産党政権下で「敵国の子」として差別、迫害された。
▼やりきれない歴史の暗部だが、悲劇はそれだけではなかった。記事を読んだ「シンクタンク戦略大学」の北岡俊明代表が、小欄に『ベトナム戦争の韓国軍の大量虐殺事件を世界に告発する』と題する冊子を送ってくれた。北岡氏らが平成２５年と２６年、ベトナム各地で調査した内容をまとめたものである。
▼北岡氏らが各地の犠牲者の名前が刻まれた慰霊碑を調べたところ、犠牲者は二千数百人を数えた。慰霊碑や墓が存在しない犠牲者や、未調査地域を含むベトナム全土では１万?３万人に達すると冊子は推定している。
▼特に１００４人もの犠牲者が出た中部・ビンアンの慰霊碑には、暴行され火に焼かれて殺される少女の姿や、機関銃で住民を撃ち殺す韓国兵を描いた壁画も設置されている。にもかかわらず、韓国政府はこれまでベトナムに対し、謝罪の意を文書で示したことはない。
▼日本の官憲が強制連行したわけでも性奴隷にしたわけでもない慰安婦について、韓国が騒げば騒ぐほど、世界は韓国の過去の悪行に注目する。トランプ米大統領との晩餐（ばんさん）会に元慰安婦を招いた文在寅（ムン・ジェイン）大統領は、かえって墓穴を掘ったのではないか。
